Introduction

How often I had read the story of the children of Israel wandering in the wilderness, but it had never touched home, touched my spirit until now.  I am being transformed by the story because I am walking the journey with them.  The scriptures have become alive, and it is as if Moses is speaking directly to me.  More importantly, I sense that the Promised Land is at hand.  When I read Numbers, I had fear and doubt and was still focused on the physical realm and my limitations.  Now that I am reading Deuteronomy, my loins are being girded; my courage and faith are being strengthened.  Now I’m ready to conquer my enemies and take hold of the promises.

Book Reviews

Doris Trueheart is a woman in search of self.  She discovers through the trials and tribulations of a life that is sometimes plagued with sickness, pain and betrayal; a strength that can only be obtained through prayer and supplication while maintaining an unwavering faith in her belief that God will make a way.

I Do is a collection of short stories, poetry and song lyrics that Ms. Trueheart uses to take you on a journey through the highs and lows of her life; as she strives to become transparent within God's will. She opens up about her painful childhood, and how those issues bled over into her adult life. She openly discusses issues of emotional, physical and drug abuse; and how through her faith in God and her willingness to be His servant and do His will she was healed.

Ms. Trueheart is to be commended for being true to her faith by following the will of God and writing this book.  This book is an honest look into the life of a woman who can truly say that she has been “Redeemed”.

I would recommend this book to and for anyone who is struggling with addictions of any type, abuse, family and faith.
